Well, I’d say it’s pretty fucking obvious what I’ll be playing for the majority of my weekend. That being said, there will be some other lovely titles sprinkled in there because I tend to get bored if I stick with one game for too long. What can I say, I have a bad case of OCD. I’m pretty sure you probably do too, so don’t judge.
Grand Theft Auto V
Oh, my sweet sweet love. I shall return to thee for some most awesome carjacking, hooker stomping, gun-toting action. Okay, so maybe I’m being a bit dramatic but GTA V is amazing. Although, I would never go so far as to call it the best game ever made like some outlets (quite frankly no one has the right to make that claim) I will say it’s damn good. You can do pretty much anything you want in the game. There’s golf, tennis, racing, shooting, side missions, story missions, stock market investing, character customization and so much more. Everything about the series has been improved in the latest iteration and it’s all been bumped up to a ridiculous extreme.
Unlike past titles, driving cars is fun and responsive, shooting is precise, and the controls are not sluggish at all. Hell yeah! Grand Theft Auto doesn’t really need an introduction though, because this series is pretty fucking famous.
You can bet your ass I’ll be playing tons of GTA V. It sucks that the online features won’t be launching until October 1st, but that gives me time to reactivate my Xbox Live Gold subscription. Yes, I let it lapse as I haven’t been playing much multiplayer lately. Thanks to GTA V that’s all about to change…
If you’ve never played this game before, it’s like Minecraft- on acid. The new 1.2 update will be launching on October 1st, and even though I’ll be probably be playing GTA V online religiously by then- I will still be sure to spend some time with Terraria. Needless to say, this weekend I want to get all my ducks in a row before the massive update is launched. Supposedly, it’s going to triple the amount of content offered in the game. Seriously, I’m not kidding go look it up!
Anyway, I’ll be playing some Terraria to get my character up to speed. Plus, I really want to kill some of those super badass bosses that I never was able to. Be careful if you decide to pick up this game for yourself, it’s definitely a time sink.
I’ve beat all the expansions, destroyed Alduin several times now and maxed out countless characters. Why am I still going back to this game? Mods mother fuckers! Skyrim has some of the best mods I’ve ever experienced in an open world game. The modding community has not only continued to surprise me, but they’ve also surpassed my expectations numerous times in terms of what I felt could be added to a game through custom user-created content. Go check out Skyrim Nexus and take a look at some of those fucking mods. Holy shit they are ridiculous.
Anyway, a few mods caught my eye while I was browsing the Nexus so you can bet your ass I’ll be trying those out.
Short list this week…
Well, there you have it. It’s a pretty short list this week, but that’s because I’ll be investing most of my time to GTA V. I mean seriously, who isn’t going to be playing that game? No really, if you’re not playing GTA V then be sure to let me know what you are going to be playing in the comments.
