This is old news, but it’s still pretty fucking exciting so I wanted to take a moment to share it here.
Some information has surfaced that suggests Sony might be working on a Breaking Bad themed video game. Why would anyone believe such a thing, you ask?
On June 5 Sony filed a trademark application in Europe for some kind of game-related product and it mentions Breaking Bad. Take a look at the image below, and you’ll notice that in the goods and services section there are some codes — these codes happen to the ones used when a company files for a video game trademark registration.
What’s off-putting about this image is that the description mentions several types of gaming equipment including casino gaming machines and mobile applications. It’s possible that Sony may be using the Breaking Bad name to create a mobile game, or they’re getting into the casino and slot machine business like Konami. Dammit man, that would suck.
The Breaking Bad art you see here was actually created by an artist named Frank Tzeng, who is now the lead character artist for Naughty Dog. If you’d like to see more of his art, you can do that here.
Oh, and if you haven’t watched Breaking Bad yet you should probably go do that.
