I’m always on the go. Most of my trips can be attributed to my current academic career. The community college I attend has several different campus locations spaced out within my area. Between commuting to classes, and jumping back and forth between my girlfriend’s place and mine, it’s safe to say I don’t get to stay in one location for long.

It’s because of my constant movement that I’ve been unable to spend as much time around a proper game console. Luckily, I have my PSP.

I know, I know, you’re probably going to make some snarky comment about how it’s not a real console, or about the fact that it lacks dual analog sticks. Frankly, I could care less, and I don’t know what I would do without it.

Dissidia 012 Duodecim Lightning

I have a serious case of ADD. I’m not exceptionally good at focusing on one single thing for very long, and it carries over into a lot different areas in my life. More specifically, my gaming habits are increasingly erratic. I’ll play a game or two, get bored and move on to another. It doesn’t help that I have a massive library of games at my fingertips either.

I’m constantly deleting, loading and rearranging the games on my PSP memory stick. I have a few UMDs lying around collecting dust, but I download a lot of my stuff from PSN. Needless to say, I have quite a few titles to choose from.

Despite the fact that I’m constantly rearranging my portable game list, there are a few titles that always remain. You could say they’re absolute essentials, at least to me.

I figured this would be an excellent opportunity to share, especially considering most of these titles also work on the PS Vita. As for the Vita, the jury is still out on that one, I’m not sure if I’ll ever pony up the money for one or not, only time will tell.

Soul Calibur Broken Destiny

Without further ado, here are my “must-have” PSP games (in no particular order):

  • Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
  • Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (with Team Maverick One English patch)
  • Dissidia 012 Duodecim (Final Fantasy)
  • Gods Eater Burst
  • Lord of Arcana
  • Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days
  • Ragnarok Tactics
  • Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection
  • Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
  • Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
  • Soul Calibur Broken Destiny
  • Mortal Kombat Unchained
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
  • YS Seven
  • Breath of Fire III (European import)
  • Adventures to Go
  • Unofficial GPSP Kai (Game Boy Advance Emulator)
    • Pokemon Titles (Any and all)
    • Zelda Titles
    • Fire Emblem
    • Metroid

I’m curious what you think of the list? What are your “must-have” titles?
