If you’ve been on the fence, you might be happy to know that Marvel’s Midnight Suns works great on the Steam Deck, and it’s my favorite way to play. It’s a fantastic card-battle, social-sim mashup where you get to rub elbows with all your favorite Marvel heroes and then some. Between battles you can have social interactions with the heroes and build your relationships, reminiscent of the Persona series. Don’t worry, the interactions are quite a bit more mature — this is not high-school fanfare.
Seriously, if you’ve been thinking about grabbing Midnight Suns, do it already. The only drawback is that when I’m playing on the Deck I always find myself powering through one more day, I can never put the damn thing down. I suppose there are worse problems to have.
I highly recommend grabbing the DLC packs, as well, which will add a few more missions and heroes that you can team up with like Morbius, Deadpool, and Storm. Even if you don’t enjoy the extra missions, the added characters give you a lot more playtime while trying to increase your social rankings, build out their skills and abilities, and much more. I grabbed my copy from Fanatical with an excellent deal that included the complete edition — DLC too. I’m not saying you have to get it from there, but waiting for a sale even on Steam is always a great idea. Even at full price, though, the game is worth it.
