As you likely know, the Monster Hunter series has long been available on handhelds, and is a near perfect fit for them. It’s no surprise that Monster Hunter Rise — and its expansion Sunbreak — are excellent on the Steam Deck. But even at max settings, the game is buttery smooth. No modifications are needed. Just boot up and play! If you plan to play offline you’ll need to boot up the game while connected to Wi-Fi first then disconnect.
