Travellers Rest main tavern area where you build

If you like Stardew Valley, give Travellers Rest a try

A game that I play quite often on my Steam Deck, when I’m in the mood for something cozy, is Travellers Rest. Now, I will say upfront the game is still in early access, and has been for a while. However, it receives regular updates, one of the most recent including some quality of life upgrades.

But even with the early access going on, there’s still a bunch of content to enjoy. As for the game itself, it’s very much like Stardew Valley in the artstyle, gameplay and social aspects categories. Although the social elements are much more shallow — hopefully they’ll be spruced up in future updates.

What is Travellers Rest about?

You’re a tavern owner and you run your own tavern, including growing the supplies, mixing the drinks, serving patrons, and kicking them out when they get too drunk. You can also go exploring, fishing, farm, in general, and there’s limited multiplayer and co-op, too.

It’s not meant to be a challenging game, so if you’re looking for something tough with some economical hurdles, this ain’t it chief. It’s more of a cozy, rainy day, waste some time building a place you love game. Again, it’s a lot like Stardew Valley.

It’s about $18 at full price, at least right now in EA. If you can grab it during a sale, it’s even cheaper. Great way to kill a few hours and/or to pick up and check back in after the updates drop.
